WHERE YOU CAN WORK IN THE NT
We have roles across the state, from larger centre's like Darwin and Alice Springs to smaller settlements with fewer services like Tennant Creek and Kings Canyon – or remote health posts and bush clinics that are rich in Indigenous heritage.
Wherever you go, you'll get valuable experience, make a real difference and have memories to cherish for life!
country townS, bush clinics or regional hospitals
We carefully match your skills and experience with the role and facility.
That means if you are just starting out, you could be placed in a general ward of a regional hospital to help broaden your skills. Or you may have what it takes to operate in rural clinics and more remote settings.
Not sure what to expect in each setting? Learn what the difference is between regional, rural and remote nursing.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED?
You'll need the right experience, skills, and a sense of adventure for these types of roles – and the ability to think on your feet. A love for adventure and a passion for making a difference are also a must!
Regional roles are in well-equipped facilities, serving communities in vibrant towns. Here you will need a minimum of three years of clinical experience after graduating. Additional certifications are a bonus but not essential. For rural and remote roles you will need more experience in primary health clinics and small rural facilities. Additional certifications and/or training are also often required to be eligible.
In terms of specialties, facilities in the NT need:
