As a RAN in the NT, you'll be at the forefront of delivering comprehensive primary health care to remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Working with a high level of clinical autonomy, you'll provide essential healthcare services, respond to emergencies, support community wellbeing, and contribute to closing the gap in health outcomes.

The Role
As a Remote Area Nurse, you will:
•Deliver comprehensive Primary Health Care (PHC) services in remote community clinics
•Provide culturally safe and respectful care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
•Assess, treat, and manage acute presentations and medical emergencies
•Coordinate patient retrievals and work closely with retrieval and emergency services
•Manage chronic disease programs, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and renal health
•Support maternal and child health, immunisation programs, and preventative health initiatives
•Undertake health promotion and community education activities
•Work collaboratively with Aboriginal Health Practitioners, multidisciplinary teams, and visiting specialists
•Operate effectively within remote clinic environments with a broad and varied scope of practice

Requirements

What You'll Bring
We're seeking adaptable, resilient clinicians who are confident working independently and passionate about remote healthcare.
Essential Skills & Experience
• Demonstrated experience as a Remote Area Nurse (RAN)
• Previous rural and remote nursing experience, ideally within the Northern Territory
• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration
• Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent qualification)
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
• Remote nursing qualifications including:
o Remote Emergency Care (REC)
o Maternity Emergency Care (MEC)
o Immunisation Certification
o Pharmacotherapeutics
• Strong assessment, clinical decision-making, and emergency response skills
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to culturally safe and community-focused healthcare
