About the role
As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse, you will deliver safe, high quality emergency care in rural and remote healthcare settings. You'll work across a broad scope of practice, often as part of a close knit multidisciplinary team, responding to a diverse range of presentations.
You will deliver high-quality, patient-centred emergency care in dynamic environments, often as part of a small multidisciplinary team.
This role suits adaptable clinicians who thrive in fast-paced settings and are confident working with limited on-site resources.
Key responsibilities
•Deliver safe, evidence-based emergency nursing care across a wide range of presentations
•Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and clinical interventions
•Administer medications and treatments in line with protocols
•Respond to medical emergencies, trauma and critical incidents
•Collaborate with medical officers, retrieval teams and allied health staff
•Maintain accurate clinical documentation and handovers
•Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Essential criteria
•Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
•Minimum 2 years' recent Emergency Department experience
•Triage experience (desirable)
•ALS competency (or willingness to obtain)
•Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
•Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
