WHERE YOU CAN WORK IN NSW
We have roles across the state, from the Murrumbidgee Region to the Mid North Coast, South Coast and Northern NSW. This ranges from larger regional cities like Albury, Newcastle and Wollongong, to smaller towns with fewer services like Lismore and Bathhurst – or somewhere really off the beaten track like Norfolk Island. We also have roles in correctional facilities. Wherever you go, you'll get valuable experience, make a real difference and have an adventure to remember!
Swap city pace for fresh air and mountain views. The Blue Mountains are just 50 minutes from Sydney, but feel a world away – think bushwalks, waterfalls, and chilled village life. Between shifts, you could be hiking the Three Sisters, chasing waterfalls in Wentworth Falls, or browsing the cosy cafés and boutiques of Leura, Katoomba and Blackheath. It gives you the option to reset when you're not on a shift - and it s only a 50-minute drive west of Sydney, or you can hop on a train. Want to explore further? Then head for Lithgow and ride the Zig Zag Railway, or Oberon, which is a farming town where life moves at a much slower pace.
Keen to swap routine for rolling countryside and wide-open skies? The Central West is full of hidden gems – from the wineries of cute towns like Mudgee and Orange to lakes, dams, and rugged national parks. On your days off, you could be wine tasting, sampling amazing local food and produce, or exploring the Jenolan Caves. It’s travel nursing with a balance of adventure and calm – giving you space to build your skills while enjoying that slower pace regional life is all about.
Out here, things feel different and move to a different rhythm - slower, and a little more real. If you are based somewhere like Broken Hill or Wilcannia, expect big skies and strong community to be part of everyday life. People around town may actually know your name! Beyond your shifts, you might be exploring the desert, cooling off in remote lakes, or heading into national parks to take in ancient scenery and Aboriginal rock art. It’s travel nursing with real perspective – building your skills while living a side of Australia few have the chance to experience.
The Hunter is one of those regions where you don’t have to choose between lifestyle options – you get a bit of everything. You might spend one day exploring vineyards around Pokolbin or Lovedale, and the next by the water in Newcastle or Port Stephens, spotting dolphins and soaking up the coastal vibe. There’s also quiet country towns, heritage streets, and easy access to places like Barrington Tops when you feel like escaping into nature. It’s travel nursing with variety – beach, bush, wine country, and city energy all in the mix, while you build your CV and skills.
This stretch of coast is all about balance – laid-back beach towns, coastal walks, and a wild hinterland all within easy reach. On your days off, you might be surfing at Scotts Head, spotting koalas in Port Macquarie, or chasing waterfalls and rainforest trails in Barrington Tops. From quiet seaside spots to lake days in Forster and Tuncurry, it’s an easy rhythm to fall into. Travel nursing here feels relaxed and outdoorsy – giving you space to grow your experience while soaking up the local vibe.
The North West has a way of slowing things down – think wide-open plains, close-knit towns, and a genuine country feel. Life outside of work is simple in the best way: lookout views, quiet rivers, picnics by a dam, or exploring small towns full of character like Bingara and Barraba. It’s less about ticking boxes and more about enjoying a change of pace. Nursing here gives you space to think clearly, build skills, and experience a grounded, community-focused way of living.
New England has a different kind of energy – cooler air, big skies, and regional towns full of character. Between shifts, you might be chasing waterfalls near Armidale, exploring national parks, or winding down in Tamworth with live music and great local grub. From fossicking around Inverell to taking in granite landscapes near Glen Innes, there’s plenty to discover at your own pace. It’s travel nursing with room to breathe – while you grow your CV and skills, with a lifestyle that allows you to keep up.
The Northern Rivers has a bit of everything – beach days, hinterland escapes, and a relaxed, rhythm that’s easy to get used to. On your days off, you might be catching the sunrise in Byron, exploring quiet beaches in Bundjalung National Park, or heading inland for river views and dramatic gorge country near Grafton. From laid-back, but over-so-trendy coastal towns to hidden pockets of wilderness, there’s always somewhere new to explore. It’s travel nursing with a lifestyle that feels easy, healthy, and full of options – while you get amazing experience and build your career.
The Riverina has an easy rhythm that is all about big skies, great food, and charming towns that feel welcoming from day one. Outside of your days on the ward, it could be long lunches at local wineries, riverside walks in Wagga, or weekends exploring Griffith - with its Italian-inspired Calabria Family Wines and De Bortoli wineries. You could also spot koalas near Narrandera, if you're looking in the right tree! It’s the kind of place where your career grows naturally alongside a lifestyle that’s relaxed, social, and easy to get along with.
The South Coast is made for time outdoors – a mix of beach towns, coastal walks, and laid-back local spots that are easy to settle into. Between shifts, you could be paddleboarding on Lake Illawarra, exploring Kiama’s coastline, or heading further south for the white-sand beaches of Jervis Bay. Keep going and you’ll find wildlife, quiet surf beaches, and fresh seafood experiences along the Sapphire Coast. And if you want to hit some malls and sample fine dining, then 'The Gong' (Wollongong to everyone else) has you covered. It’s a region where your downtime feels like a mini getaway – giving you the chance to switch off, recharge, and enjoy the coastal vibe while growing your career.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED?
